Pearl Mountain, Flight of the Drongo 2021

Get to know: Pearl Mountain, Flight of the Drongo

Tasting Note

Flight of the Drongo is a light and lively expression of South African Grenache. It’s pale in colour, almost ethereal, with flinty and smoky aromas that give it a distinctive edge. On the palate, there’s a slight spritz – a refreshing touch for some, though it can be smoothed out by decanting. Fresh, zesty, and unique, this wine dances lightly across the tongue, embodying the free-spirited nature of its namesake bird.

This light red pairs well with charcuterie and cheeses like camembert and mozarella.

Kate Says

“I love how different this wine feels – it’s got this airy, almost weightless feel but packs in so much character. That little spritz makes it fun and playful, but if you’re after something smoother, a quick decant sorts it out. Perfect for sipping on a warm evening or pairing with light dishes. It’s a wine with a story, and it feels good knowing it’s organic too!”
